On 9 and 10 May 2014 a round of introductory workshops for the Soufflearning methodology took place at the Venus Conference Center in Sofia, Bulgaria. They were organized by our Bulgarian partner, the Bulgarian Development Agency. Besides trainers Traute Winzker and Kristin Auer, there were four participants.
After a warm welcome and short introduction, the participating trainers were asked to describe their area of expertise and also to state the expectations they had regarding the workshop. This included identifying two main training skills they wanted to concentrate on. These included:
- soft skills
- teamwork skills
- communication skills
The trainers were then introduced to the Soufflearning framework. Afterward they were broken up into pairs to identify important training needs they observed regarding micro and small enterprises in Bulgaria.
This was followed by an introduction to the procedure of a Soufflearning training. The participants then proceeded to compile a plan for a hypothetical training session including estimations for time requirements.
In the afternoon the trainers played through several situations which could potentially arise during training to get a better feel for the realities of Soufflearning training. This was followed by practice runs for the initial talk and feedback conversation which are part of accompanied training sessions.
At last participants developed plans for the closing workshop of a Soufflearning training and engaged in an open discussion about what they learned, offered feedback and provided helpful insights.
